Ah....sunshine

Nothing like a little sunshine to pick up one's mood!

After a cozy girls-night with movie and popcorn (for me, not them), the ladies were tucked in for the night and had a good night sleep.

This morning, the sun actually came out for a little while and it was 10 above zero, barely any wind 😊

We opened the door for some fresh air and sunshine and that lifted their spirits!  Coco was pecking my hand, Elsa just kept watch, and Stella loved a little petting on her wings and chest.  Ah, yes, life is good!

Movie night

I stopped by the Three Ladies tonight to say goodnight and I noticed they seemed really quite.  Turns out, they are getting the winter blues and just feel like "breaking free" from this weather.

After some talking, I suggested we maybe have a girls-night in and watch a movie. That lifted their spirits!

Guess what they wanted to see?

Think they are feeling a little "cooped-up".

It has been a little bit of a rough winter last few weeks.  Snow and bitterly cold winds have kept the Three Ladies from venturing out of their warm house.

While it is really cozy in there, I fear the effects of being cooped-up may be taking a little toll on them....

They were kind of chatty this morning and were hoping I could stay and have tea with them. I told them I had to get to work but I would be back again tonight.

At that point, Coco turns to Elsa and says: "Hey, Elsa. Do you know how long chickens work?"
Elsa: "No".
Coco: "Round the cluck"!

Yeah...time for spring.

So good to catch up

Finally got some time to hang out with my ladies Stella, Coco, and Elsa.  Been several months since we got together and boy-oh-boy was there a lot to catch up on!

Turns out that that Stella's sister Medina, the one that lives in North Dakota - she has that nice boy, well he is not a boy anymore, he is now a really important professional in a law firm in Fargo because he does so many things nobody else knows how to do, you know, like making copies and bringing coffee and only he knows where some things are, like envelopes and staplers.  I don't know what they would do without him!  Anyway, it was Medina's birthday so she was going to have birthday coffee and invited her old friend Asta, who lives in Mandan.

Medina called Asta to invite her to her coffee. They hadn't spoken for a while, so Medina was really looking forward to catch up a little, but Asta just said "uhuh", "yes", "no", and short words like that.  So, Medina thought Asta maybe was mad at her for something, so she thought of making Asta's favorite pie for the coffee.  So she asked Asta "What is your favorite pie?  I will make it for my birthday coffee", and you know what Asta said??!!!  She said "Bitch"!! Naturally, Medina was so shocked that she hung up.

Next day, the phone rings and it is Asta. Turns out, Asta had just returned from the dentist when Medina had called her and she had a hard time talking with all that novocaine messing up her mouth.  She had tried to tell Medina, but you know Medina, good luck getting a word in.  So, when Medina asked about her favorite pie, Asta tried to say "PEACH", but it came out as "Bitch".

Boy, they had a good laugh at that!!
